The Skills Support for the Workforce (SS4W) project was commissioned by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) using European Social Funds (ESF) from June 2013 to July 2015.
The project, led by Newham College on behalf of London Capital Colleges, set out to support Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), from a range of sectors in London, to up-skill their staff. It offered progression routes into higher training and Apprenticeships ensuring that employers gained the vital workforce skills to sustain and grow their businesses. It also facilitated employer networking and promoted training opportunities.
The London Capital Colleges involved are: Barnet & Southgate, City & Islington, Ealing, Hammersmith & West London, College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London, College of North West London, Lambeth, LeSoCo, Newham, South Thames, Tower Hamlets, Westminster Kingsway, Barking & Dagenham, Hackney Community College and Waltham Forest.
