CIPS has been part of a multi-national project known as CIVET (Counselling Immigrants in Vocational Education and Training). The project acknowledged the increasing numbers of migrant workers across Europe and the challenges they face in vocational education and employment because of language and cultural differences.
5 countries swapped experiences and developed a support package for teachers and trainers working with people on vocational programmes whose first language was not the same as the country they were living in. The package consists of an intercultural training model for teachers and trainers with a guide book and additional support materials that have been developed locally. The package will be useful for Human Resources and Training Departments in colleges and workplaces and for teachers and trainers to access directly. The package is free and can be used and adapted under the license agreement.
It can be downloaded from the CIVET website.
